Constantine, the Roman Emperor, was not really a true Christian. Even though he claimed to be Christian, he still kept many pagan practices. These practices were eventually brought into the church and became accepted.
During this time, Christianity became very popular. As a result, many pagan customs began to blend with the Christian faith. This happened because the church was viewed more like a worldly kingdom—just another part of society, instead of being a spiritual community focused on God Guided Ephesus Tours.
A Call to Listen and Overcome
In Revelation 2:17, Jesus makes a promise to those who stay true to His teachings, resisting immorality and the love of power. He says:
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.”
This is a call to listen carefully to His warnings and live in a way that pleases God. Jesus offers special rewards to those who stay faithful The Second Problem The Error of the Nicolaitans.
What Is the Hidden Manna?
Jesus promises to give those who overcome the hidden manna. In the Bible, manna was the food God gave to the Israelites when they were in the desert (Exodus 16).
Jesus says in John 6:41, “I am the bread sent down from heaven.” He is the true manna, the spiritual food that strengthens our inner being.
This “hidden manna” is spiritual nourishment—something deep and personal that others don’t understand. It’s a relationship with Jesus that only believers can experience.
A New Name and Special Reward
Jesus also promises a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the person who receives it. This represents a special, intimate relationship with Jesus. It’s a personal gift—something unique for each believer who stands firm in faith.
This part of the letter to the church in Pergamum encourages Christians to remain faithful and resist worldly pressures. Those who do will receive special blessings from Jesus, including a deeper connection with Him.
